Delete your account and data
You can have everything HouseReport holds about you deleted. This page explains the three ways to ask, what is removed, and how long it takes. It also serves as the data deletion instructions for sign-in providers such as Facebook.
How to request deletion
- From your account. When signed in, open your account and choose "Delete my account". You confirm your password (or sign in again), then the account is deleted at once.
- By email. Send a message from the email address on your account to support@housereport.io with the subject "Delete my HouseReport account". If you signed in with Facebook or Google and are not sure which email that is, tell us the name on the account and the sign-in method you used; we will verify it with you before deleting anything.
- Without an account. If you bought a report as a guest, we hold the email address you paid with, the order and short-lived server logs. Email us from that address at support@housereport.io and we will remove the email address from your orders.
If you signed in with Facebook or Google
- Facebook: go to Settings and privacy, Settings, Apps and Websites, find HouseReport and remove it. That stops HouseReport receiving anything further from Facebook. It does not delete the data we already hold; use one of the methods above for that, and we will confirm by email when it is done.
- Google: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions to remove HouseReport's access, then request deletion as above.
Removing a provider's access only unlinks that sign-in method. Deleting your HouseReport account removes the account itself and the data below, whichever way you created it.
What is deleted
- Your account, email address, password hash and every linked sign-in identity.
- Our records of the emails we sent you, and every session where you are signed in.
- Security events lose your email address and keep only a random reference.
Reports you bought are unlinked from the account and their email address is removed. The payment record itself is kept for six years, as UK tax law requires, and the report link we emailed keeps working for whoever holds it. Database backups age out within 14 days, and a deletion is applied again if a backup is ever restored.
How long it takes
A deletion from your account happens at once: you are signed out everywhere and the data above is removed, and we email the account's address to confirm. A request by email is completed within 30 days of us confirming it came from you, and we reply to confirm.
